17 January 2012 - Wentworth to Adelaide

Packed up and left Wentworth today for our trip to Adelaide. A few hours of driving ahead and no major attractions on the way. Packing up was relatively quick given that the tent was annex- free. Kids were a bit painful and suffering a little from lack of sleep due to staying up and watching the possums last night.

Arrived in Adelaide, and very glad for our personal Christmas present of the Garmin sat nav that directed us to the salubrious Adelaide Shores Caravan Park. The park is advertised as being located in North Glenelg but this seems to be taking a bit of 'geographic license' given that Glenelg is about 5km away and there is a sewerage treatment plant in between.

The park is huge and absolutely packed, mainly with people from SA on their summer holidays. Our campsite neighbours actually live in Adelaide only 10 mins away! Apparently they come here every year so the kids can play with their mates pretty much unsupervised and the husband goes to work. There are also plenty of cyclists around the park here for the Tour Down Under. We are not sure how many people are staying but every square inch seems to be full and numbers would have to be in the low 000's. Most importantly we are right next to a shaded jumping pillow for the kids, I'm sure they think they have arrived in heaven.

We will start exploring Adelaide tomorrow and have a day out of the car.
