19th January 2012 - So this is what a holiday is all about

Another day kicked off at the bouncing pillow, a great way to bounce off some energy early on. This was followed by a trip to the local coffee shop – where again we got babycinos without marshmallows. This must be an Adelaide thing?

We spent the morning at the beach just next to our camp site. An early morning swim, some sand castle building and pool digging and Nick even found the kids a crab. Em was pretty nervous but still held it very bravely. We finished off the morning with a swim at the pool. Bliss.

Nick headed off to pick up his race pack for the big Tour  Down Under Stage tomorrow, and then I took the kids for a “relaxing walk” by the beach. What was I thinking. We forgot Wasi, so between Lachie complaining and Em’s mood perhaps we should have stayed at home. Still we walked much of the coastal walk to Glenelg and spotted a few windmills much to Lachie’s delight.

How wonderful to have a day of pretty much nothing. This is what holidays are all about and we certainly need more of these.
